THE MAN AT THE TRAMSTOP (2008)

In their fifth production, "The man at the tramstop", TOYBOYS address the topic of duality as well as questioning established truths and provoke analysis and reflection.

"The man at the tramstop" is inspired by the works of writer Alf Prøysen.

They have extracted perspectives and played with the duality in his texts seen from a “queer” point of view.

Allowing vulnerability as well as a wish to act decisively they create unpredictable leaps between humor and severity. The desire to be “lifted” by someone, the sense of fluctuating identities and aspirations are themes TOYBOYS address throughout the performance.
Behind the artistic efforts of TOYBOYS lies the wish to bring forward the concept of “differentness”, giving us a broader view on gender categories to encourage the development of a looser definition of identity: an acceptance of the multitude and parallel sexual categories which extends the definition and understanding of ourselves.

“WE ARE HERE, WE ARE QUEER, GET USED TO IT.”
