In their fourth production, NON STOP – LYDLØS, the free-speaking male duo TOYBOYS -Terje Tjøme Mossige and Ulf Nilseng - address the theme of degradation and look at ways in which humans experience and live with this state. With the help of the French writer Jean Genet’s book “The home helps”, they play games with reality and fiction. They ask the questions: what is true and what are constructed, invented or just outright lies. What does it means that something is authentic and where do the boundaries run between the autobiographical and the fictitious? The aim is to draw the audience into this world of uncertainty. In their attempt to come to grips with this world they strive to overcome their paralyzed and powerless condition and find a firm place to stand. They have also developed further the mixture of dance and conversation and challenge the audience with unanticipated switches between humor and gravity. The two dancers and choreographers Terje Tjøme Mossige and Ulf Nilseng say they wish to address themes concerning of what is different and deviant. They aim to project figures with floating identities and wish to turn their backs on constructed narrow frameworks and on gender prejudice. “We believe it is a self-evident truth that all people are born equal and have equal rights to life, choice of gender identity, freedom and the quest for happiness.” Choreography, performers: Terje Tjøme Mossige and Ulf Nilseng |
